ClearFoundation Web Site - Beta
|
Hello everyone! For those of you who have not read the announcement
earlier this year, please take a moment to review it for more background information.
The new web site has been
launched! Please be patient with us as we work through some of the glitches and
continue building content. There are a lot of important initiatives floating around the
site and we more than welcome feedback. Here are some of the highlights.
Not-for-Profit
Following the lead of The Mozilla Foundation,
Apache Software Foundation and the Linux
Foundation, we made the decision to house the open source ClearOS software in a not-for-profit
organization. This will not only protect the source code, but also provide structure
to pursue the
ClearFoundation mission.

Roadmap Update
We were in a bit of a no man's land with the product roadmap. We're back on
track and you can find an update here.

Login for ClearFoundation |

 |
Do I need to create an account on ClearFoundation?
If you have logged into the ClarkConnect forums since January 1, 2008, then your account
information was migrated to the new web site. We did not want someone hijacking
your ClarkConnect identity!
How do I access my ClearFoundation account?
First, you will need to reset your password using
this web form.
You can find the e-mail address used in your ClarkConnect Forums profile if you need to look it up.
If you have any problems, please send an email
and we will help!
Should I update my profile?
Yes! To quote from the
ClearFoundation web site guide, we encourage you to share some information about yourself so that others will know who you are and what you do. How would you describe what you do to someone from the other side of the world? We are certainly not asking for social security numbers, age, address, date of birth or any other private information. We encourage everyone to use their real name especially if you become very active in the community. We also encourage everyone to upload a picture of yourself to help personalize the sometimes mundane binary world we live in!

ClearOS 5.1
We hope to have a beta release of ClearOS 5.1 available before September comes to a close.
Usability, bug fixes and improving the build system were the big focuses.
Improved Web Site Tools
One of the things we did not do well with ClarkConnect is communicate. From documentation,
to howtos, to providing everyone a place to share information. Well... the
ClearFoundation web site guide
will give you an overview on how we have turned that corner. It is just the beginning!
